My Journey

MY JOURNEY
Our lives are always changing which, I think, makes life more interesting. Of course, with change comes a bit of anxiety at times. I like to think of life as a journey. This has become a rather common phrase now but I feel it is true of all of us. I am now a retired educator. I never thought I would be a retired anything. But I find myself in this position and feel like a fish that has been thrown into an entirely new world. I am finding my way so to speak. I have really enjoyed my profession in education and wanted to somehow feel I was still contributing and so I am trying my hand at blogging.
FAMILY
I have been married for 43 years. We have two grown sons who are married and both have children. I have 5 grandchildren and they are amazing! We spend as much time as we are able visiting with them. I am all about family. My parents raised us to know how special family is and I was around family growing up on every special occasion and more. We celebrate everything!
MY EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND
I have only been retired for a couple of months, but have always wanted to write. I thought it would be fun to start a blog and continue to share my knowledge from a new venue. I have been in education for about 30 years. After being in the classroom for several years and then two children later I went back and got my MEd in Education specializing in Counseling. I have worked in school settings from first grade though college age. This included public education and private. I found similarities working with different ages and different challenges as well. However, I loved it all. I really felt like being with young people was more of a calling and not a profession.
WHAT NOW?
My plan is evolving so we shall see. My hope is to blog about children and young adults, education, parenting, wellness, and more. I look forward to sharing with you many of my experiences and hope that by sharing I may help you in some small way. I like to think I might have left some small imprint on the lives I touched in education all those years and perhaps I might continue doing that through this new arena.
BE WELL! I hope to see you next time.
