May Musings 2021 By Anne Donegan Costas
Wow! Where to start. Right? If you have been living in this United States this year so much has happened. We have a new president. At least I think we do. If you follow any political writings which I do some are saying the election will be overturned. Sounds a bit weird but who am I to question. Time will tell. Recounts are proceeding and lawyers are trying to stop the recount. I find it interesting that if the election was not a fraud why not just let the recount happen? What’s the big deal?
Then there is THE MASK! Oh my so many decisions. Do I wear the mask if I have been vaccinated? Am I protected around others who have not been vaccinated? Is it true that this so called “shedding” that refers to those who have received “the shot” can infect others just by being around them? What is true and what is not true? Dr. Fauci says this virus is highly contagious and we must get this shot and wear a mask. And yet I read hundreds of articles by Doctors from around the world who have been practicing and studying viruses for years say this is all blown out of proportion. They say this is just like the flu and while we do need to be careful it is not as dangerous as those in control would like us to believe.
So who do we believe and what do we believe? I keep reading and praying these bureaucrats will do what is right and speak the truth. Is that too much to ask?
And the immigration issue. If you live in a border state and/or your city/town has become a sanctuary city for thousands of immigrants flooding our border since it was reopened by President Biden then you are most aware of this immigration concern. I have read many different people who have podcasts on these issues and there are so many concerns. The one that makes my heart hurt is the extent to which child trafficking has become big money. It is becoming bigger than drugs. Isn’t that the saddest commentary on our society ever?
I am ready to get on with life as I feel most of us are. Watching my grandchildren play in the yard with OTHER CHILDREN. Who thought that would be a luxury? Going to a baseball/softball game and watching my grandchildren play in the sunshine with their teammates. It feels good for life to return to some sort of normalcy although there are those who say we will never go back to the way it was. The question I have often asked all my life is, “What is normal anyway?” I think the answer may vary depending on who you are asking.
Will we wear masks every time we have the flu season? Ahh! I hope not but then that’s me. You may feel differently. I do know one thing for sure and that is I am thankful I have God on my side. Walking this journey the roads can be pretty rough and full of gravel, pitfalls, and skinned knees. I am thankful for my husband, family, prayer warriors, friends and for people like you who take the time to share my thoughts.
I am looking forward to a great summer and being with family and friends. Stay well! Talk soon!
Love this Anne
